At Pearse Stadium today Galway and Louth shared the points, the opening half saw the ‘Men in Maroon' lead by six points at one stage thanks to a goal from Danny Cummins as he crashed the ball to the net after Paul Conroy's shot came off the post. The visitors rallied and by the break they trailed by only two points 0-7 to 1-6. The second half saw both sides miss easy chances and when Gareth Bradshaw after a great run edged Galway in front it looked as if both points were safe but Jim McEneaney scored the levelling point to give Louth a share of the spoils on a final score line of 1-8 to 0-11.
